Kernel is a peer-learning institution dedicated to building a better web.
As we say on our
'Start' page, "Kernel is not about overwhelming you with information. It is about slowly building, through repeated interactions with peers, the patterns (both internal and external) required for a better web."
Kernel serves up to 150 Kernel fellows -- technologists, artists, engineers, researchers, musicians, ecologists, designers, linguists and people beyond these distinctions -- in furthering specific projects via an ongoing, peer-to-peer learning environment.
We have traditionally operated in "blocks", running 10 over a 5 year period. This application is to enter into the environment, generally.
